Manage and prioritize planned, preventative and corrective maintenance and reduce recurring breakdowns and downtime.
Lead, develop and coordinate the maintenance team, ensuring effective planning, workmanship and follow-through.
Work closely with Production and Quality to improve equipment reliability and support the site's 90% production efficiency target.
Provide engineering input into new equipment, projects, process changes, modifications, trials and commissioning.
Identify opportunities to improve, modernize and automate equipment and processes and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions. •
Troubleshoot technical problems and provide sound engineering solutions for existing and ageing equipment.
Manage engineering contractors, suppliers, spares and maintenance-related expenditure.
Ensure engineering-related regulatory requirements, inspections, records and safe working practices are maintained.
Support business continuity and provide the General Manager with visibility of significant engineering risks, downtime and improvement priorities.
Work collaboratively with the Technical Manager, drawing on existing business knowledge while bringing additional engineering capability and a forward-looking technical perspective.

  • Relevant engineering qualification – Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or similar.
  • 3–7 years' relevant manufacturing or maintenance engineering experience, with some experience supervising or leading technical staff.
  • Practical experience with industrial production equipment, fault-finding and preventative maintenance.
  • Experience with equipment improvements, projects or modifications.
  • Good problem-solving, organizational and communication skills.
  • Computer literate
  • Valid driver's licence

Advantageous

FMCG, personal care, pharmaceutical, chemical or process manufacturing experience.

Experience with mixing, filling, pumping and packaging equipment. • Automation, PLCs, instrumentation or VSDs.

Equipment installation and commissioning.

ISO/GMP/customer audit environments.

Reliability improvement and root-cause analysis.
