BIC South Africa (BIC Group) required an individual with the skill and ability to manage & assist with a 24 hour manufacturing plant and at the same time implement improvements within the production& maintenance department to ensure that the operations within the plant are at the most efficient and effective as possible, adhering to all KPI’s and Volume requirements
• Responsibilities: Manage +-130 Semi-skilled Operators and Skilled Artisans within the BIC Factory. Manage all production and maintenance (JDE, MobilityWorx, PDM and PowerBI), including projects within the BIC company. Responsible for all required training, ISO Standards(9001 and 14001)& OHS compliances ( ZERO harm to all)
• Skills needed: Production and Technical Engineering background, with knowledge in manufacturing, production and maintenance and the ability to manage and control all labour related requirements (Including the OHS of all employees, Safety 1st)
• Achievements/Improvements made: Resource stability within the Production and Maintenance department was required and achieved, that ensured that daily targets and KPi’s could be achieve and converted into profit at the end of the month. Stability in controlling cost (especially in maintenance expenses) had to be achieved to ensure budgets are met at the end of each month. Weekly preventative measures were put in place to ensure downtime was decreasing every month until stability was achieved above 80% on PDM platform. Cost saving activities include IMM vacuum system, New injection mould moulds that are able to use recycled plastic within the operations, MOC on current components to ensure more recycled plastic then virgin ( > then 30%)
Day to Day activities:
- Maintaining KPI’s: (OEE, Safety, Scrap reduction, Capex, Opex and Production Adherence)
- Managing site maintenance:(Building, Auxiliaries and machine maintenance)
- Safety being the heart of all operations (4 years LTI free)
- Maintaining and support the ISO9000 and 14000 standards
Steel Fabrication : Maintenance Manager From 2014-11 To 2019-06
Duties
Macsteel Tube& Pipe (Macsteel Group) required an individual with the skill and ability to manage & assist with a 24 hour manufacturing plant and at the same time implement improvements within the maintenance department to ensure that the operations within the plant are at the most efficient and effective as possible
• Responsibilities: Manage +-40 skilled artisans within the MTP Factory. Manage all maintenance (DMS, SAP) and projects within the company. Responsible for all required training & OHS compliances.
• Skills needed: Technical Engineering background and knowledge in manufacturing, production and maintenance and the ability to manage and control all labour related requirements (Including the OHS of all employees)
• Achievements/Improvements made: Resource stability within the maintenance department was required and achieved, that ensured that daily targets and KPi’s could be achieve and converted into profit at the end of the month. Stability in controlling cost (especially in maintenance expenses) had to be achieved to ensure budgets are met at the end of each month. Weekly preventative measures was put in place to ensure downtime was decreasing every month until stability was achieved to below 7%

Pegasus (Ceramic Industry Group) required an individual with the skill and ability to manage & assist with a 24 hour manufacturing plant and at the same time implement improvements to ensure that the operations within the plant are at the most efficient and effective as possible
• Responsibilities: Manage all +-180 employees within the Pegasus Factory. Manage all production, planning and maintenance (Pragma) within the company. Responsible for all required training & OHS compliances. Also appointed as the GMR (2) of the Pegasus Factory you are responsible for all machinery and safety thereof
• Skills needed: Technical Engineering background and knowledge in manufacturing/ production sector and the ability to manage and control all labour related requirements (Including the OHS of all employees)
• Achievements/Improvements made: Resource stability was required and achieved, that ensured that daily targets could be achieve and converted into profit at the end of the month. Stability in controlling cost (especially in maintenance) had to be achieved to ensure budgets are met at the end of each month. By implementing waste control solutions/data ensured that all areas of waste could be identified and be eliminated
