  • Maintaining and reporting on the effectiveness of the subcontractor’s quality management system, including implementation of the standard practice system, the utilization of standard process control mechanisms, forms, checklists and reporting structures.
  • The planned inspection of fabricated components in accordance to approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), drawings, specifications and procedures at sub-contractors’ works.
  • Providing notification to the Employer’s QC representative of planned inspections. 
  • Reporting on the adequacy of sub-contractor’s QC resources.
  • Identification and reporting to head office of process improvement opportunities. 
  • The minimization and ultimate elimination of non-conforming product.
  • Review and approval of sub-contractor process control documentation as necessary, (eg Quality Inspection Plans, (QIPs), NDT requests, Non-conformance reports, Concession Applications etc.) in accordance with the appropriate codes and contract specifications.

Petrochemical & Oil and Gas  : Boilermaker Welder (Trade Test) From 1989-01 To 1998-03
Duties
  • Ensure piping fabrication and boiler making work carried out in accordance with company rules, regulations, standards and permit to work procedures Chemical cleaning of piping systems including Oil Flushing, Acid cleaning, Rinsing, Passivity / Neutralization. Review work and inspection results to ensure compliance with EPC Contract requirements. 
  • Review the construction sequence/logic, work plan/procedures, pre-task planning and methods statement to ensure comprehensive feasibility and safety, Push up the contractor for speedy work, guide & assist them to achieve the target in time. Successfully coordinated for Quality inspection matters liaising with sub-contractor management and work force.
  • Reviewed and ensured that appropriate consumables were distributed to welders in order to make sound weld.
  • Inspected dissimilar metal joining such as stainless steel to carbon steel; qualification & performance monitoring of welding personnel.
  • Monitored various welding process like GTAW, SMAW, FCAW (auto &semi auto) & SAW.
