Duties
-
- To develop and manage laboratory(metallography, hardness, chemistry) duties to ensure that customer requirements are met and also the test are carried out in an effectively and controlled manner
- Metallurgical report writing
- Metallurgical Failure investigation through visual examination, metallographic evaluation, mechanical testing (hardness, tensile test ect) and chemical analysis
- Continuous improvement of metallurgical processes to reduce costs
- Scrap analysis and utilization of problem solving mechanism to reduce the scrap
- To monitor heat treatment operations to ensure compliance to internal procedures and customer requirements.
- This includes internal and sub contracted process
- Responsible for material certificates
- Supporting Melting department (i.e. charge make-up and addition, melting and pouring temperature).
- Analysis of mechanical (tensile, impact etc.) results from the external laboratory.
- Establish and audit pouring temperatures to ensure high quality product
- Management of critical spares and consumables
- Reviewing quality control plan, compiling of data packs and arrangement of third party witnessing
- Conducting Internal Dye penetrant test
- Review of X-ray and Dye pen reports using X-ray reviewer
- Instruct and train floor employees on technical requirements to ensure high quality product.

Duties
- Sample preparation (grinding polishing and sectioning)
- Corrosion test and sand testing(moisture)
- Microstructural examination, hardness testing, Heat treatment
- Metallurgical characterization, presentation of the results to the Team members and analysis of the data.
