Purpose of the Role:

The Group Key Account Manager will manage key accounts across the Group, executing on strategy, building and maintaining strong relationships, and driving business growth. Understanding clients’ business needs and providing solutions that meet or exceed their expectations. 


  • Co-create and execute the Group Strategy for managing the relationship with the key clients.
  • Oversee the Fixed Price Agreement with the Group’s key clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the Group’s key clients, understand their business needs, and provide solutions that meet or exceed their expectations.
  • Interact and collaborate with internal teams, including operations and customer service, to ensure optimal and seamless service delivery to clients.
  • Generate new sales with a view to promoting long-lasting relationships.
  • Act as the main point of contact between key clients and internal teams.
  • Compile regular reports for the Exco team on account progress, status and forecasts, trading performance, and customer satisfaction levels.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitive activity, and clients’ needs through ongoing market research.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of key clients' needs and requirements and preparing customized solutions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing customer queries, concerns, and complaints
  • Manage a team of Key Account Managers

BComm/Diploma in Marketing and/or Business Management

Knowledge and Experience:

ESSENTIAL:  Fluent in French

Knowledge of logistics, imports/exports, transportation, procurement and supply chain management.

Knowledge of the mining industry.

Demonstrated experience at operating at a strategic level.

Proven track record of managing key accounts at senior level.

The ability to run the account using business principles.

The ability to be extremely pro-active.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite, CRM software.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

Willingness to travel (national SA and Africa) and work flexible hours when required
