Reports to Operations Manager

Role Summary

  • In charge of maintaining electrical instrumentation and installation at the plants.

 

Accountabilities

Financial Perspective

  • Puts cost saving measures on allocated budget to avoid wasteful expenditure.
  • Ensure all routine maintenance work is handled on a regular schedule to reduce the risk of larger and more complex issues and to reduce costs.
  • Financial reporting on the budget spent and monitoring time and attendance to avoid people working more than the required time in a week.
  • Incharge of purchasing products less than fifty thousand.
  • Ensures that bill of quantities is properly calculated.

 

Internal Business Process Perspective

  • Dealing with breakdowns and liaising with the engineering department to make sure the problem is quickly resolved.
  • Incharge of after-hours maintenance and callouts.
  • In charge of approving overtime if needs be to enhance production.
  • Monitors safety and does audits regulary to make sure there is compliance
  • Assists on the production side with queries or questions of clarity.
  • Conducting maintenance repairs on old or faulty fixtures.
  • Responding to fault requests.
  • Providing suggestions for equipment replacement.
  • Writing electrical maintenance reports.
  • Installing new electrical appliances in the building.
  • Adhering to safety and performance standards.
  • Determine the reasons for any malfunctions of systems or components and create a maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem.

 

Customer/Stakeholder Relations Perspective

  • Ensuring customer service standards remain high and continually looking for ways to improve.
  • Mantaining good relations with external engineers.


Organisation & Growth Perspective

  • Analyzing group performance and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitor the relevant key performance indicators (e.g. compliance with the calendar) and take initiative to derive the necessary measures if KPIs are not achieved.

  • Complete all relevant tasks as per work instruction
  • Ensure that all tasks are completed in a safe manner
  • Maintain high quality standard for all tasks carried out

Qualifications and Experience

Required Minimum Education / Training
Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering

Required Minimum Work Experience
5-8 years
Good understanding of Power stations and substations
