JOB PURPOSE:
Provides generalist HR support within the business unit division and partners with management and employees to ensure integration and application of HR processes and business objectives.
Key Result Area:
Business Unit Support:
Partner with assigned business unit and provide guidance and support on HR related matters
Engage in operational business unit meetings to determine where HR intervention is required
Evaluate business structures and provide suggestions on job roles, organisational structures and labour related concerns
Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
Analyse trends and metrics in partnership with the business/ HR to develop solutions
Recruitment and Selection:
Liaise with department head to determine recruitment needs and provide advice as needed including salary benchmarking
Complete the recruitment and selection process from beginning to end as per legal, HR and organisational standards.
Draft, submit and maintain Letter of appointment as per organisational requirements
Submit new engagement paperwork in time according to monthly payroll deadline
Ensure employee onboarding process as per HR and organisational requirements
Performance and Talent Management:
Provide day to day performance management guidance to managers Identify training needs and assist the L&D function in aligning training programs with business objectives
Assist management in identifying, retaining and developing key talent as per the talent management policy
Terminations:
Conduct exit process as per HR policy
Provide exit interview feedback to management as needed
Employee Relations:
Conduct disciplinary and incapacity enquiries as per disciplinary policy
Participate in annual wage negotiations as per manager’s requirements
Respond to grievances as per grievance procedure
Facilitate job evaluations for wage staff as per departmental requirements
Provide company representation at CCMA as needed
Employment Equity:
Monitor and conduct analysis of EE statistics and flag related concerns
Arrange EE meetings quarterly, prepare and present EE statistics and transcribe minutes as needed
Complete mandatory EE reports as legislated
Partner and assist management in the drafting of EE plans within the allocated timeframe
Assist management in meeting EE targets through recruitment and development planning efforts
Administration:
Adhere to departmental standards for manual and electronic filing • Action change requests as per HR policy
Review HR processes, policies, and procedures annually
Update and report on recruitment progress report weekly
Team Support:
Handle general enquiries to customer satisfaction
Provide general HR support at Manager’s request e.g. HR Project, performance management, payroll, etc
